MA in security studies

OVERVIEW
Historically, Rwandan security architecture is part and parcel of Rwanda’s socio-economic and security problems and solutions. There are several reasons why the MA in Security Studies is designed, given its troubled history that climaxed into the genocide amidst current innovations to overcome the tragedy. That is why capacity building for security practitioners is paramount to the country’s development process. The Centre for Conflict Management (CCM) of the University of Rwanda, the only national institution in the field of Peace and Conflict Studies selected Rwanda Defence Forces Command and Staff College as the most suitable partner in order to offer in-depth knowledge required for professionalization process of security studies in Rwanda, in the region and beyond. In particular, this partnership will enhance acquiring skills and knowledge transfer to RDF personnel who play a vital role in post genocide Rwanda’s Security Sector Reform
