Elly Musafiri

Elly Musafiri is a Researcher and Lecturer at the Center for Conflict Management (CCM) at the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS), University of Rwanda (UR). He is currently a PhD student in Armed Conflict and Peace Studies at the University of Nairobi, Kenya. He holds a Master’s degree in Peace and Conflict studies, specializing in Responsible Management and Sustainable Economic Development from the University for Peace, Costa Rica and an MA in Social Work from the former National University of Rwanda. He has various peer-reviewed articles in recognized academic journals in the field of peace building, reconciliation, history and genocide.

Elly Musafiri has done various consultancies on Rwandan history and Genocide, reconciliation and peace-building, sustainable peace and development. Some of the related consultancies he participated in as a chapter writer include: The 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Sulfo Rwanda Industries in 2017, The 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in MINECOFIN in 2017, The 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in MININFRA in 2018, Rwanda’s reconciliation barometer of 2012 and 2015 (commissioned by National Unity and Reconciliation Commission, NURC), a book on Rwanda’s reconciliation (commissioned by NURC) consultancy on national heroes in 2015 (commissioned by CHENO)[1], Genocide in Mugina in 2011(commissioned by CNLG), Genocide in the former prefectures of Butare and Gikongoro (commissioned by the National Commission for the Fight against Genocide, CNLG), Journaling for Peace: Children's Energetic Voices on Peace, Conflict and Peace-building, (commissioned by World Vision Rwanda Program in 2012), to mention but a few.
