Jean-Bosco HABYARIMANA

Jean-Bosco HABYARIMANA is a Researcher affiliated to the Center for Conflict Management of the University of Rwanda. He has a PhD in Peace and Development Research, obtained from the University of Gothenburg, School of Global Studies, in Sweden. He completed his MA in Peace Education at the United Nations mandated University for Peace in Costa Rica.

Prior to that, Jean-Bosco finalized a Bachelor of Education with major in English and French Language Teaching at the former National University of Rwanda. In 2006, he started teaching English at the School of Foundation Language Skills at the same university, before he got transferred to the Center for Conflict Management of the National University of Rwanda in 2009. At the Center, Jean-Bosco worked as a Research Fellow, Deputy Director, and Project Coordinator. He also worked as an Assistant to the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at the former National University of Rwanda. Dr. Habyarimana’s academic interests include, but not limited to, electoral violence prevention, brokers and brokerage in peacebuilding, conflict transformation, civic and peace education, curriculum development in peace and conflict studies, entrepreneurship for the social sector, etc. In his research, he focuses on the role of intellectuals in transforming communities for and in which they operate, putting specific focus on practices of violence prevention.
